Arizona Procurement Portal (APP) Registration Help

The Arizona Procurement Portal (APP), at app.az.gov, is the State of Arizona’s official e-procurement system. If you want to sell to Arizona state agencies, this is where you register and where the state posts its bids. GERC sets up APP accounts, picks the right commodity codes, and helps Arizona businesses answer solicitations.

What the Arizona Procurement Portal is

  • APP replaced ProcureAZ in October 2018. Vendors registered in ProcureAZ had to register again.
  • More than 120 state agencies, boards and commissions use it.
  • The State Procurement Office posts solicitations over $10,000 on APP.
  • Through the Arizona Cooperative Program, cities, counties, school districts and nonprofits can buy from state contracts, so one state award can reach many buyers.

How to register on APP

  • Registration is free and takes about 10 minutes.
  • Choose “Want to do business with the State?” and enter your legal business name and federal tax ID.
  • Add commodity codes for what you sell. These decide which solicitation notices you receive.
  • Keep contacts and codes current, since notices go to the people listed.

Cities and counties often run their own portals. Tucson uses OpenGov and Pima County uses BidNet Direct, for example, so state registration is only one piece.

How GERC helps

  • APP registration and commodity code research
  • Solicitation monitoring and bid/no-bid reviews
  • Proposals through our bid writing services
  • Related registrations: SAM.gov, city and county portals, and ADOT or City DBE certification

Example: how a Phoenix office supply company would get started

This is an illustration of our process, not a client story.

A small office supply distributor in Phoenix wants state agency business. We register it on APP with commodity codes for office supplies, paper and furniture, and set up notice routing to the owner and sales manager. We review open statewide contracts it could compete for, and because cooperative buyers can use state contracts, we build its pitch to cities and school districts once it wins one.
