How to Register on MyFloridaMarketPlace: A Step-by-Step Guide for Vendors — Global Economic Research Consulting

MyFloridaMarketPlace registration happens in the MFMP Vendor Information Portal. MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) is the State of Florida’s e-procurement system. Most Florida state agencies buy through it, and you must be registered to receive state solicitations and get paid on state orders. Registration is free and takes about 30–60 minutes if you have your information ready.

What you need before you start

  • Your business legal name and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), or SSN for sole proprietors
  • Business address and contact details
  • A list of the goods and services you sell
  • Remittance (payment) address

Step 1: Register in the Vendor Information Portal

Go to the MFMP Vendor Information Portal, click Register, and enter your company, tax ID and contact information.

Step 2: Choose your commodity codes

MFMP uses UNSPSC commodity codes to match you with solicitations. Choose every code that fits what you sell. Agencies don’t always pick the same codes for similar purchases, so choosing too few means missed bids.

Step 3: Submit your Florida Substitute W-9

Florida requires a Substitute Form W-9 through the Department of Financial Services’ vendor website (flvendor.myfloridacfo.com). Without it, the state can’t pay you.

Step 4: Find and respond to bids

Once registered, you receive notices for solicitations that match your codes. State solicitations are posted through MFMP’s Vendor Bid System. Read each solicitation carefully. Florida bids have strict forms, deadlines and submission rules.

The MFMP transaction fee

Florida charges vendors a transaction fee on payments issued through MFMP. The standard rate is 1%, but from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 it is 0.7% of each payment. The Legislature reviews the rate every year, so build the current rate into your pricing (Florida DMS: Transaction fee).

Also consider Florida certification

Florida’s Office of Supplier Diversity certifies minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses for state contracting. FDOT-funded work uses DBE certification, which now requires an individual showing of disadvantage under the U.S. DOT rules. Counties such as Miami-Dade and Hillsborough run their own vendor registration and small business programs.

Common MFMP mistakes

  1. Choosing too few commodity codes
  2. Forgetting the Substitute W-9, which delays payment
  3. Letting contact emails go to someone who has left the company
  4. Registering with the state only and missing city and county portals
