Our WaterSMART grant writing follows Bureau of Reclamation program rules. California water districts, cities and tribes fund water supply, efficiency, treatment and drought resilience projects through a mix of federal and state programmes. GERC writes the applications and prepares the economic and benefit analyses they require.
WaterSMART grant writing and other programmes we support
- Bureau of Reclamation WaterSMART. Including Water and Energy Efficiency Grants, Drought Response Program projects and planning grants for water conservation, efficiency and resilience.
- U.S. EPA. Water infrastructure funding including Community Grants and support for State Revolving Fund projects.
- California State Water Resources Control Board. The Division of Financial Assistance runs the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds and programmes for small and disadvantaged communities.
- California Department of Water Resources. Integrated regional water management and drought and resilience grants, where available.

- Benefit-cost and economic analyses where the programme asks for them

Several state programmes reduce or waive match for small and disadvantaged communities. We check eligibility early and document it in the application.
